The use of shoulder replacement has been steadily increasing over time worldwide because of the expanding range of clinical indications, including osteoarthritis, which is most common among older individuals. The growing demand for shoulder replacement is likely to continue given the aging population and the impacts of age-related conditions. There is, therefore, a need to ensure that we can efficiently assess the outcomes of this surgical procedure.
